Founder and Owner Kerri VanEe is a Nurse Practitioner who has spent the last 20 years in the healthcare field. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999 and later as a Nurse Practitioner from Allen College in 2011. She’s continued her education through the study of integrative medicine, nutrition, orthopedics, and medical aesthetics. She has been a Waverly resident since 2004 and lives there with her husband and two teenage boys. When not at Essence she enjoys hiking, reading, kayaking, and traveling.

Kate Huisman is a 2019 Purdue Global Registered Nurse graduate with a background in surgical services and is continuing her education in aesthetics. As a cancer survivor, her interests are in health, nutrition and fitness. Kate’s passion is to help others seek optimal health and to holistically treat men and women to reach their health goals through various treatments and services offered by Essence Aesthetics and Health. Kate grew up in the Cedar Valley and currently lives in Waverly with her husband Job and daughter Hayden. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, working out, and serving at her church.

Callie is a graduate of Iowa State University and ICCC. She has 15 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in surgery and education. She has a passion for helping people reach their aesthetic and skin care goals. She looks forward to building last relationships while offering safe, beautiful, natural looking results, through confidence treatments! Callie resides in Waverly and enjoys spending time with family and friends. One of her favorite things to do is ski in the Rocky Mountains.

I am excited to be a part of the Essence Team! I am currently a student-athlete at Wartburg College, majoring in biology (pre-nursing) and I am on the track and field team. I love being active, outdoors, and with my friends when I’m not studying! I am originally from Osage, Iowa and have fallen in love with the Waverly/Cedar Falls area. Medical aesthetics and skin care are passions of mine and I look forward to getting to know our clients and sharing the confidence treatments we have to offer at Essence!

Marina recently graduated from high school in Tripoli, where she has grown up her entire life. She plans to attend Hawkeye Community College to complete her general education classes before transferring to Allen College to earn a degree in one of their medical programs. She was placed in a job shadow at Essence in the Spring of 2022 and fell in love with the positive and encouraging atmosphere so vividly present throughout the team! Marina loves spending time with friends and family, staying active outdoors, and volunteering at her small country church in her free time!

Olivia is a biology student at Wartburg College and is interested in pursuing a career in nursing. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she has found her purpose in helping others through compassionate and professional care. She looks forward to having the opportunity to help clients at Essence look and feel like their best self. Olivia is from Waverly and in her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time outside, and watching baseball. She is excited to work with the Essence team, develop relationships with clients, and share the benefits of medical aesthetics.
