How does it work?

Harmony Dye-VL uses IN-Motion technology, a unique system that ensures patient comfort throughout the treatment while being very effective. The IPL works by safely breaking apart melanin and other pigments in the skin to effectively remove the unwanted coloring.

This technology supersedes the results from traditional IPL and photo facial treatments. Eliminating red and brown spots from your face, neck, décolleté, hands, and more has never been easier!

How do I prepare for my appointment?

  • Avoid tanning or unprotected sun exposure for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid use of self tanners for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid use of retinols for 1 week prior to appointment.
  • Notify provider if you are taking any medications that make you sensitive to the sun.

What should I expect at the appointment?

Plan for 10-30 minutes for your Harmony IPL treatment, depending on the size of the area being treated. The IPL treated area may darken and look flakey or like particles of dirt; it is important to avoid picking or exfoliating the area. The treated area should heal in 7-10 days.

How soon will I see results and how long will it last?

Most conditions will improve after just one treatment; however, most patients will require 3 sessions approximately one month apart for optimal results. Following treatment, use of sunscreen on a daily basis, year round, will be important to prolong the results of the treatment.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

  • Avoid electrolysis, plucking, or waxing the area for 6 weeks prior to treatment; you may shave during this time.
  • Avoid tanning or use of self tanners for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Cleanly shave the areas the night before or the morning of appointment.

What should I expect at the appointment?

The length of time needed for your appointment is dependent on the size of the area(s) being treated. The treatment is essentially painless with the In-motion technology.

There may be redness/blotchiness to the treated areas for 24-48 hours following treatment. Avoid shaving over treated area until the redness has resolved. Hair may remain for up to two weeks following your treatment. You may use a Loofah to remove loose hair after treatment.

Avoid swimming or hot tubs for one week following treatment to reduce the risk of irritation and infection.

Utilize sunscreen if treated areas will be exposed to the sun.

How soon will I see results and how long will it last?

Hair grows in stages and the hairs on your body are not all in the same stage at the same time. Only hairs in the growth phase will be affected by the treatment, which means that although you will see some hair reduction after just one treatment, you will need multiple treatments to get the best results. Clinical research shows that a series of 3-6 treatments spaced between 6-8 weeks apart are required to achieve permanent hair reduction.
