Opus uses radiofrequency energy to penetrate into the dermal layer, stimulating fibroblast activity. Fibroblasts control the formation of new collagen and elastin in the skin, creating a tightening effect. At the same time, the specialized tip on the Opus causes the radiofrequency energy to react with nitrogen in the air, creating a plasma spark. The fractionated plasma spark creates a small, controlled injury on the skin and forces a wound healing response. The result is facial rejuvenation, with smoothing and brightening of the epidermal layer of skin.

Avoid use of retinol products and unprotected sun exposure for at least one week prior to the treatment.

Plan for approximately 1 hour for your Opus treatment. The area will be numbed with a topical cream prior to the treatment. Opus allows for superior customization, allowing the provider to tailor the patient’s treatment to their needs and aesthetic goals. Following the treatment, ZO Skin Health products will be applied to the treated area and the post care products will be provided to you to take home. In addition, a light layer of Aquaphor at night for 3 nights post treatment is recommended. You will provided with detailed post care instructions following your treatment.

Expect mild to moderate redness and mild swelling following the Opus Plasma treatment. Healing time can range from 2 days up to a week, depending on the settings used. Mild redness may extend past 1 week, however, not expected. Clinical studies have shown that Opus Plasma treatments required 50% less downtime than laser alternatives, meaning you can get back to your regular activities far more quickly.

For most patients, optimal results are achieved with 3 sessions, approximately 4 weeks apart. More heavily degraded skin will require more treatments.

Resurfacing results can be seen in 2 weeks, however, tightening will require multiple sessions and best results will be seen 90 days post treatment.

Results are permanent; however, with the aging process, skin is always breaking down. Maintenance is typically 2 to 3 sessions per year for most patients.
